It has been two weeks since I’ve updated the site with a post but here we are again. In this past two weeks or so, I have been building up a WordPress Development environment that allows me to use on varies of different operating systems such as Linux (Elementary OS), MacOS, and Windows 10.
Since I have been working with three different operating systems, I needed something that will work out of the box and no need to configure a web server for all three, so I decided to use VirtualBox and Vagrant as my main environment.
What is VirtualBox
VirtualBox is a powerful virtualization for home use and it is free. VirtualBox allows you to install any guest operating systems such as Windows, MacOS and Linux and share folders from host to guest and it has a lot of features as well. In this case, I have built an environment with VirtualBox with Vagrant that allows me to use a web server and install what I need for environment.
What is Vagrant
Vagrant is a tool that manages, configures, and builds an environment into a single workflow. I have used VVV before which also uses VirtualBox and Vagrant and it works very very well but I like to do something similar and I managed to build something similar and less cumbersome.
